Citation Corrections

Citation corrections record fixes to references, source roles, historical attribution, DOI or arXiv links, edition choices, access dates, and bibliography annotations.

No public citation correction entries have been recorded yet for the current draft build.

Record a citation correction when:

  • a cited source does not support the claim,
  • a primary source attribution is wrong,
  • a DOI, arXiv link, or title is wrong,
  • a newer review is needed for an active topic,
  • a textbook edition matters and is missing,
  • a web source has moved or changed,
  • a bibliography annotation misstates a source’s role.

Before fixing a citation, ask:

  • Is the claim historical, pedagogical, rigorous, experimental, computational, or current-research facing?
  • Is a primary source needed?
  • Is a modern review needed?
  • Is an official standard or documentation page needed?
  • Does the source use a different convention?
  • Should an internal canonical page carry the explanation instead of repeating it?
  • Citing a review for an original discovery when the primary paper is available.
  • Citing a textbook for a frontier status claim.
  • Citing lecture notes for a theorem that needs a rigorous monograph.
  • Omitting edition information when section numbers or notation changed.
  • Treating a bibliography page as if it were a source for a formula.
