Changelog

This changelog records notable reader-facing changes: new sections, convention changes, major corrections, page reorganizations, and review milestones. It is not a complete version-control log.

Detailed file-level history belongs in repository history. This page is for changes a reader may need to know when comparing notes, citations, or older saved pages.

  • Expanded the Learn prerequisites with targeted readiness checklists for mathematics, physics, and a self-diagnostic quiz.
  • Expanded the Learn roadmaps with quantum information, quantum chemistry, and condensed-matter routes.
  • Completed the Learn convention suite covering units, bra-ket notation, inner products, Fourier transforms, wavefunction normalization, operators, commutators, tensor-product ordering, spin and Pauli matrices, angular momentum, density matrices, and probability-measurement notation.
  • Added trust-maintenance policy pages for citation standards, evidence labels, versioning and review, error reporting, contribution guidance, and this changelog.

Record changes when they affect:

  • canonical-home placement,
  • conventions,
  • formulas or signs,
  • page status,
  • references for important claims,
  • major navigation,
  • major figures,
  • interpretation-sensitive wording,
  • reader-facing correction history.

Do not record every typo fix, local prose cleanup, or internal-only build change unless it affects reader trust.

When a correction changes a formula, sign, normalization, or conclusion, include:

  • the date,
  • the affected page,
  • the old issue in plain language,
  • the corrected statement,
  • whether the page status changed.
  • Committee on Publication Ethics, Core Practices, for correction and transparency principles.
  • The Turing Way Community, The Turing Way: A Handbook for Reproducible, Ethical and Collaborative Data Science, for open maintenance practices.
  1. A typo is fixed in an exercise explanation but the formula and solution are unchanged. Does it need a changelog entry?
Solution

Usually no. The changelog is for notable reader-facing changes, not every copy edit.

  1. A Fourier transform sign convention changes on the convention page. Does it need a changelog entry?
Solution

Yes. Convention changes can affect many formulas and reader notes, so they should be recorded clearly.
